Up In Smoke # 2

My recent post on my blog informing English speaking Americans about the No Fumar signs, was not to offend but only to inform. Most people including myself do not know the Spanish language.

I certainly appreciate and welcome any comments, including the negative ones .

Financial Aid Would be a Plus /

Financial aid to the Reading School District will help save the district from a catastrophe.

Senator O'PAKE will this pay our long-distance phone lines (610). The Reading School District currently has 610 long distance phone lines.

I believe its time to ask for the cell-phone records again.

Keith Stamm wanted the residents of Reading to be Informed

June 28 th,2006:

Keith Stamm warns the school board that spending needs to be controlled. I feel bad when most of my colleagues want to live in a feel good enviroment. They want most people to think its ok to spend all the money.

We just need to feel good about the taxes being raised, and then most school boards including Reading's will blame it on State funding. Eventually the system needs to change for the better.

Attacks on KeithStamm's Grammer, Spelling, and punctuation

This must be an unhinged liberal attacking me. I find it very amusing they have the time and will to criticize me.

Please keep doing it because it makes me more of a success.

Energy Committee to be Developed

Keith Stamm was told from board president Pierre Cooper it was ok to start an energy committee.

I will be looking for at least one student to join this committee. I'm hopefull one junior and one senior student will volunteer. Please contact me if you have or know of a student who might be interested. I may be reached by e- mail at stamk@aol.com or at my office (610) 921-3141 and ask for Keith

June 28th board meeting

The board authorized $1,000 donation to the Reading Education Foundation in the name of Brian Frymoyer.

June 28th board meeting/ Other Business

The board voted 5 to 3 in favor of giving ( 7 ) cabinet members raises. I could not vote yes for this because a previous board voted 8-1 in favor of giving these people life-time medical benefits.

Ken Christian and RonMcDowell were in favor of this on a previous board. Other members who voted for that were Karen McCree, Pierre Cooper, John Santoro, Rodney Steffey, Dr. Frederick Gaige, Stratton Marmorou

To Teach The Other Side

Today Keith Stamm was called a racist in an e-mail message. This happened because on my blog site I speak about informing the public about both sides of the issues.

I would encourage the person who sent this e-mail to find out about the real Keith Stamm.

You may ask my neighbors who are of African origin if im a racist. Call Hazel Black of the Human Relations Council and ask if I am racist. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what she will tell you. Please have a great day!

Darrell Scott's Columbine Testimony

Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's sub-committee.

What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert!

These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation, there has been good and evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers. The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field.

The villain was not the club he used. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart. In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA.

I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore, I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder, I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy - it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room.

Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:"

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.

Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"

You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, soul and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice and hatred to rush in and reek havoc. Spiritual influences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact.

What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs, politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties.

We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

Political posturing and restrictive legislation are not the answers. The young people of our nation hold the key. There is a spiritual awakening taking place that will not be squelched! We do not need more religion. We do not need more gaudy television evangelists spewing out verbal religious garbage. We do not need more million dollar church buildings built while people with basic needs are being ignored.

We do need a change of heart and a humble acknowledgement that this nation was founded on the principle of simple trust in God! As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right!

I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA - I give to you a sincere challenge.

Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Local Republican Response to Speaker John Perzel

I was reminded something Theodore Roosevelt wrote to his son in 1913. He had written Quentin that his fellow Progressives were driving him nearly mad. " I have to remember, in order to keep myself fairly good-tempered, that even although, the wild asses of the desert are mainly in our ranks, our opponets have a fairly exclusive monopoly of the swine. "

Mr. Perzel, you're out of touch with the people!!

A Great Clash Of Values

In 1977 Democratic Governor Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts vetoed a bill requiring public school teachers to lead children in the Pledge of Allegiance. When then vice president George Bush criticized his veto during the 1988 presidential campaign, Dukakis and his supporters went ballistic. They charged that Bush was impugning Dukakis's patriotism, and called the debate over the pledge a "frivolous" issue.

But Bush wasn't questioning the governor's patriotism. He was questioning the governor's values.

Do You Need a Speaker For Your Affair

Keith Stamm is available to speak to your class, church group, senior citizens groups.

I can speak on several issues such as what a school board is suppose to do . I can speak about corruption, politics past or present

I can speak about what i had to do to eliminate over 50 cell phones. Please feel free to contact me either by e- mail or call my office (610) 921-3141

Action Alert / Please forward this to everyone

National Education Association Set to Endorse Homosexual Marriage:

The new NEA proposal essentially says schools should support and actively promote homosexual marriage and other forms of marriage in their local schools.

Translated, that means the NEA will promote homosexual marriage in every avenue they have available, including textbooks, to all children at all age levels and witout the permission or knowledge of parents. Their plans will include every public school in America.

This was e- mailed to me by a concerned parent/ and was e- mailed to him by The American Family Association. Things such as this if it happens will continue to erode what is right vs wrong. This will also bring people to the Republican party by the thousands!!!

Recent Speaker From Chicago 6/24/06

School Board just spent $2,500 for this speaker from Chicago. There will be charges for his flight and hotel. Last but not least another charge for food. Will Cinfici and Keith Stamm did not attend this feel good seminar.

This spending is out of control, it would have been cheaper to just take a cruise. Remember food is served on the ship 24/7. The Vice President of this board said," We need this so we learn how to eat with one another"

I ate with the other board members at a sports banquet and at a Vo- Tech banquet long before this speaker.

Corrupt & Connected

Want better leadership? Then cut the chain of the old-boy network!!!!

Please read the recent article in Philadelphia magazine by Noel Weyrich. It sounds so much like Reading,Pa. Please let me know after you read this article what you think?

Questions and Question and more Questions

Please send me your questions either by E-mail , Stamk @ aol.com, or call me at 610) 921-3141.

Presidential Election in 2004

I believe the biggest reason for the Presidents victory, was Laura Bush. I met her during a campaign stop in Montgomery County.

She was so gracious, and her southern charm spoke volumns.

A Question To Ask ?

Whenever a feel good person tells you how great it will be at the GOGGLE WORKS. Please ask them if they will sell their home in the suburbs to move to this fabulous downtown location.

Please can we record their reaction on Channel 69 NEWS, Better yet we need every major media outlet to be available.

I think MAYOR TOM should be the salesman trying to convince the people who supported him to buy one of these condominiums.

QUESTION: Do you think the $5,000 contribution to Mayor McMahon, from the now Famous Kevin Timochenko was from the UGI theft ??????

Why Not Just Take A Cruise

At a recent meeting I told my colleagues , Why not just take a cruise ? Then you won't have to worry who is going to feed you!

The food will be on the ship 24/7, and just think we all can feel Real , Real good. That is called
Feel good government!!!!

We would fit in with the feel good people accross the street and in Harrisburg.

NewYork Phone Calls

I have several ideas and theories about the many long-distance phone calls to NewYork.

Keith would like to hear your thoughts about these calls to NewYork. Do you call NewYork to order special paintings from Haring? Do you call another section of New York for tickets to see the YANKEES? Are you calling NewYork for your doctors appointment? Do you call NewYork to order a new trumpet to play in the band? Do you call the great city of NewYork to speak with Donald Trump about our fabulous construction going on in the City Of Reading?

These are just a few of my thoughts to make the tax paying public think about the many long-distance calls from the Reading School District. Should I get rid of my Long-Distance Line at home? Why would anyone who has the availability to use these phones need Long-Distance at home!

Keith Stamm The Musician

Keith Stamm played the trumpet for 14 years with The Swing Fever Big Band , then he played with the Sound Advice Jazz Band.

When the big fish falls I will play a special tune for them.

Persistent Fly On The Ointment

I will continue to be the persistent fly out of control. Remember I had the experience of senior citizens crying when I campaigned several years ago. I will be a changed person forever due to that experience.

To the people who verbally attack me , and the people who have threatened me, I will forgive you.

Long Distance For ( 610 ) Phone Lines

The next time you make a long-distance phone call, stop and think of the 610 phone lines.

Please contact or ask any teacher, administrator, or school director about these phones.

You may also call your State Representatives and ask why this abuse continues in the Reading School District.

The cost for these lines are over $4.00 per line or $2,440/per month or $29,280.00 per/year

Reducing this number in half would certainly buy alot of pencils.

Energy Waste In The Reading School District

Dear Building Principals :

Are any of your students ever cold or hot when they are in your school?

Do any of your students wear short sleeve shirts in the winter?

Please let me know if your staff has ever told you if they have been to hot or cold?

This is just a small survey with the intent to help everyone.

Energy Policy For The Reading School District

I will ask the current administration, and my colleagues to create an energy committee.
Hopefully this committee will have a mission statement.

I would like at least one other board memeber, our business manager, (1) maintenance employee, and at least one student that has a strong interest in a science field to participate.

I'm hopeful this commitee can reduce energy costs 20%

Class Politician,or The Unhinged Liberal

The class politician is a man such as Senator Mike O'Pake, who can sit and have an intelligent discussion about different issues.

The unhinged liberal is someone who complains about my blog site. Remember they would tell people I was out of control when I would discuss certain things on WEEU feedback show. Someone who is out of control usually isn't corrupt

I will continue to use certain media to give The Other Side of The Story, Good Day!!!

Up In Smoke

No Fumar Signs were recently placed at our schools. ( No Smoking in Spanish )

This cost the taxpayers $1,520.78 to teach the other side not to smoke, this is more feel good government. When will we ever learn!!!!

Hazelton appears ready to root out illegal immigrants

Please read the June 20th article in the Reading Eagle (b-10) The sad thing about this is they will probably move to Reading Pa. If Reading would do the same thing we could probably save at least $40,000,000 for a new school.

Does our Mayor Tom McMahon have the same courage as Mayor Lou Barletta????

Security At Reading High School

On Friday June 16th,2006 Keith Stamm found the gate at the top of Oley St. opened. I also found astro turf outside of the south side of the band practice field.

I immediately called Barry Suski,He asked if I would shut and lock this gate. I feel that in the future these fields are going to need cameras on them. Lets have cameras now, so we don't need to have someone give us a feel good statement later. Remember the other parts of the city and what happened when we tried to feel good.

We didn't have other fields secured and all we received was trash and destruction. Then we have certain people who don't want to believe it. Like Paul Harvey says, now you heard the rest of the story.

Remember The Truth Will Set You Free

DO you know anyone who would like to run for political office?
I want anyone who ever thought about making a difference to contact me. If they ever thought about being on a school board, or running for something contact me.

I'm also looking for any student who would like to find out about politics in general. Please contact me at Stamk@aol.com

13 PHONE LINES AT THE MUSEUM

Why are 13 phone lines needed at the museum with long-distance capability? Maybe someone has to jump or run from line to line to see who is calling about Keith Haring. Is it possible someone wants to find out how to contact Keith Stamm ? I know they wouldn't be calling me from New York or Philadelphia. Not only do I not inhale, I have never let myself be put in those situations for drugs during the course of my life.

Press Release from Federal Bureau of Investigation

FBI Creates a Weblink to Ease Reporting of Public Corruption TIPS

Washington, D.C. - Today in a speech in San Diego, FBI Director Robert J. Mueller III discussed the FBI's ongoing efforts to combat public corruption, including the launch of an easy-to-remember web address for the public to report information about public corruption to the FBI. The vast majority of public officials - both elected and non-elected - are honest in their work and committed to serving their fellow citizens. Unfortunately, there are countless examples of corrupt acts around the country of government officials who abuse the public trust and confidence.

Since 9/11, the FBI has had to prioritize the use of its resources, placing national security programs first. But at the same time, the FBI made public corruption its top criminal investigative priority. Director Mueller stressed that "public corruption would not be tolerated and although rooting out corruption can be exceptionally difficult, it is a mission for which the FBI is singularly situated. We have the experience and skills to conduct necessary undercover operations and the ability to perform court-authorized electronic surveillance. But more than that, we have insulation from political pressure".

Many FBI investigations are initiated based on a tip from someone who encounters corruption. Director Mueller added "that there is a growing intolerance by the American people best illustrated by their willingness to come forward and report abuse of public office. The FBI is grateful for those who come forward to report corruption. That information is critical to our work. We are working to make it easier for the public to report public corruption".

The FBI has established a weblink - reportcorruption.fbi.gov - that is designed to enable the public to send information about public corruption to the FBI. When the address is entered, a page appears that gives instructions on how to report corruption to the FBI - by phone or through the Internet. FBI analysts will then review that information case-by-case and ensure there is follow-up. Through this website and with help from the public, the FBI will continue to build on its efforts to eliminate public corruption.

Arts Center Plans $7.3 Million Annex for Classes , studios

Why must certain people come to the Reading School District to bail them out?
Classrooms for the school district in the Goggle Works is not the answer. My honest opinion is the City of Reading hasn't been able to determine how to pay for the high energy costs for that building.

The City always look to the Reading School District to bail out certain private entities.

Why are we moving forward without proving that the current GOGGLE WORKS is self supporting?

ALIEN AMNESTY BLOATS WELFARE

Bill Would Lead to Largest Expansion of Welfare in 35 Years:
The bill would grant amnesty to about 10 million illegal immigrants and put them on a path to citizenship. Once they become citizens, the net additional cost to the federal government of benefits for these individuals will be around $16 billion per year.

Why Is It So Easy To Enter High School

On Wed. 6-14-06, I entered the Geigle Complex approximately 8:00pm. The door wasn't locked. Two basketball teams were having a scrimmage. Why was it so easy to enter and then continue into several areas of the school? I'm troubled because there have been several breakins.

Insurance costs will rise at a dramatic rate if we do not tighten our security procedures. I'm hopeful security will be able to show where I was on their video tape.

Today At Reading High School

I called Dennis Kelley today 6-14-06 from one of the faculty rooms. I wanted him to know that this is one of the phones that can be used to call Europe. This abuse needs to be fixed.

Addiction Fighters Make Real Difference

Rehrersburg (written by Holly Laudermilch)
My 25 year old son Michael's troubles with drugs began when he was in high school.

It got so bad that while he was serving with the Army in Italy, he literally died - twice - from hereon overdoses. He was not breathing both times he was taken to the hospital but responded to CPR and Narcan. As a result of his struggle with drugs, he spent 18 months in military prison only to come home to pick up where he left off.

Last July, Michael relapsed yet again on heroin after 130 days clean. At that point, he had already been in seven rehabs and a mental hospital in addition to the military prison. He had no options left. A friend who was a graduate of Teen Challenge suggested to me that my son needed to go there. Three days later he left for the Teen Challenge Induction Center.

Today my son is truly a changed man. Although still a student here at Teen Challenge Training Center, he now works in the public-relations department and is the leader of a contemporary worship band ministry called "Friends", which is available to perform in concert at area churches and community events.

I began volunteering here after Michael came into the program, and today I am blessed to be part of the staff. The miracle that saved his life has happened more than 15,000 times here on "God's Mountain", yet so many people are unaware of what Teen Challenge is.

Research continually shows that Teen Challenge's long-term cure rates for graduates remaining drug-free are far more successful than their counterparts. In 1975, Department of Health, Education and Welfare research validated 86% of Teen Challenge graduates remained drug free seven years after graduation. In 1998, a study conducted at Northwestern University in Illinois revealed that 85% of Teen Challenge graduates remained drug free. What's more, 90% of Teen Challenge graduates were found to be gainfully employed two years later as compared to 41% from other programs studied.

Secular rehabs have about a 6% to 7% success rate. We are proud of our graduates and our 44 year history of saving those with substance abuse issues with a "faith-based solution". Our students are from all over the world and are from 18 to 62 years old. Teen Challenge also has an adolescent center for young teens.

Drug and alcohol abuse affects every American - whether directly or indirectly as a result of higher taxes to cover jail-time expenses for crimes the addicts commit, or "rehabbing" them to encourage them to be productive citizens. At Teen Challenge, students are never turned away because they can't afford to come here. Our $5.7 million annual budget comes through contributions and fund-raising efforts.

During the year, Teen Challenge holds many wonderful events that anyone can attend. In July, former Teen Challenge students come "back to God's Mountain" for a weekend of fellowship, listening to performances by Christian contemporary bands, choirs and great public speakers. This annual event is open to the public, and there is no admission charge. People come from iles around, and many stay for the spectacular fireworks display on Saturday night.

This year's Celebrate! 2006 weekend is July 7 to 9. If you haven't been to Teen Challenge, we invite you to tour the 350 acre campus on "God's Mountain" by visiting us during regular business hours or visiting us at Celebrate@ 2006.

OUTLOUD

"They don't have anything to say to anyone about anything that matters to anyone."

Pollster JOHN ZOGBY,explaining why Democrats have not been able to capitalize on voter dissatisfaction with Republicans

Recent Pay Raise Debacle

I personally believe that our forefathers would not have voted for the pay raise.

Real leaders like George Washington signed their letters,"Your most humble and obedient servant." Do you really believe leaders like this would have demanded a pay raise?

Recent Ceremony At Southern Middle School

I recently attended a very special ceremony at Southern Middle School.I was very impressed, and also very proud of the new students who are advancing to Reading Senior High School.

I'm also very proud of the young man who had the courage to invite me to attend. His name is Ashton.

Ashton, please feel free to contact me with any of your ideas.

Letter I Received Today In The Mail

Keith Stamm received a letter at his home today.I want everyone to know that it doesn't matter if you send me information or ask me questions. Sometimes I can answer the letters or e-mails and other times I feel I have to protect my informant.

Department of Justice Press Release

Two Memphis police officers arrested in sting operations

THE COMPLAINTS
Terrance Lashun Harris is 32 years old and an officer with the Memphis Police Department ("MPD"). He is currently assigned to the Southeast precinct. He has been employed with the MPD since September 29, 1997. He is charged with attempting to possess with the intent to distribute at least approximately six kilograms of cocaine in violation of 21 U.S.C. S 846. The affidavit of FBI Special Agent Bryan B. Underwood is attached to the complaint and describes the basis for the charge and the underlying investigation.

According to the affidavit, the investigators received information that Harris was involved in distributing narcotics. To follow up on these allegations, an IRS agent analyzed Harris' financial transactions.

According to the affidavit, the informant also asked if Harris would assist him in cocaine transactions. Harris readily agreed. During a meeting on February 22, 2006, Harris paid the informant $5,000 to assist the informant in purchasing three kilograms of cocaine for resale. On February 27, 2006, the informant repaid $5000 to Harris along with an additional $2,500 representing his share of the profit. According to the indictment, at this meeting, the informant told Harris that, "I ain't getting nothing but three keys at a time. I made 2,000 off each one of them". The informant was telling Harris that he bought three kilograms of cocaine and resold them for a $2,000 profit on each kilogram.

Ted M. Williams is 43 years old and an officer with the Memphis Police Department. He was hired by the Memphis Police Department in 1994, and he is currently assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit. He is charged with violations of 18 U.S.C. S 641 (theft of government property), 18 U.S.C. S 2 (aiding and abetting) and 21 U.S.C. S 846 (attempted possession of a controlled substance). The affidavit of FBI Special Agent Daniel A. Netemeyer is attached to the complaint against Williams and describes the basis for the charges and the underlying investigation.

According to the affidavit, Williams had a series of discussions with an informant regarding robbing drug dealers. THee conversations were recorded. The informant said he worked with Mexican drug dealers and would be in possession of their money and drugs. According to the affidavit, on October 24, 2005, Williams asked the informant if he wanted to do it, and the informant told Williams that he would be driving a vehicle and Williams could stop it and take the money. As described in the affidavit, they then planned a theft.

As described in the affidavit, Williams also agreed to escort a shipment of drugs. The affidavit alleges that, on or about March 23, 2006, the informant had a telephone conversation, the informant told Williams that the "Mexicans" were on their way, and Williams warned that they should avoid the north loop of Interstate 40 to avoid teams of law enforcement officers.

Response To My Comments reagarding residency and the city charter. I agree most of our administrators who work for the Reading School District live outside of the city.

The big difference is that when the City Charter was written it stated that these people should live in the city. Why have a Charter form of government, if you cannot abide by what was written and voted on.

Park Benches In Hampden Park

Keith Stamm would like to bring attention to the broken benches in Hampden Park.

I recently took some pictures of these benches that are falling apart. I also took pictures of the curbing in front of this Park. I will be e-mailing them to Dr.Chapman in the near future. I'm hopeful that Dr. Chapman will address this in the near future.

Recent Vandalism Should Finish Security Analysis

Keith Stamm originally requested an updated camera system on January 17th, 2006.
During the January or February Board meeting, I publicly asked for a District wide security analysis.

I'm hopeful that this analysis will be finished in the near future. This needs to be addressed immediately, before more Reading School District property is destroyed.

Warning to Anyone Using Taxpayers Funds

Subject: Cellphones (Abuse Will Run Rampant)

Maintenance workers will tell you they need the walkie talkie feature (answer for that is to purchase walkie talkies and pagers).

You will also find employees who really do not need a cellphone!! Example: Reading School district pays for the superintendents phone and the one that also sits unused in his office.

Vehicles For City Employees

I have a QUESTION ?????, How many vehicles does the city provide their employees?
What position must you have to drive a car on the taxpayers dollars?

I will be asking the same question of our superintendent, Dr.Chapman. I only heard of one for the school district. I really think this is a tragedy, because most employees, whether they work for the city or school district, can afford their own payments.

Please give me your comments on anything (you do not need to tell me who you are).

Must City Workers Live In The City Commentary

Recently I read a commentary by two City Employees (Linda Kelleher, City Clerk)and (Leon Churchill, Managing Director) I have to agree with Ms. Kelleher that residency retains middle-income workers. Residency also promotes mutual respect and trust among the residents.

Dear Mr Churchill: If you do not believe in a Charter form of government, then you should resign. There are many people who would love to have some of those lucrative city jobs and not even hesitate moving into the city.

I know there are plenty of beautiful homes for these employees to live in. I have sold, and will continue to sell them.

Tap Water Good Enough

Recent letter to the Editor:June 9th,2006
I thought I read everything about taxes until I read the taxpayers in the Conrad Weiser School District have been helping to buy bottled water for the school staff.

Dear Erma, These are the types of things that school boards normally overlook. When I became a member of the Reading School Board in 2003, I found a similar situation. In our school district the administrators were abusing the taxpayers!!! These are the types of things that can help raise taxes on the elderly.

Editors note: The Conrad Weiser School Board voted to eliminate $5,000 dollars for the bottled water from its budjet.

Phone Lines At The Museum

Upon a recent investigation we found 13 phone lines going to the Reading Public Museum. These lines have long distance availablity.

Currently there are (610) phone lines that have this availability in the Reading School District. Why does anyone need long ditance at home. Upon my recent investigation of three months of phone bills I found a pattern.

We now have more calls to Puerto Rico and The city of New York then i can count. I found that Brooklyn is a popular place with someone in the district.

The question is who can use these phones to call? The answer is anyone from a student, teacher, boardmember, custodian, maintenance worker, or administrator. When will this abuse end!!!

The Taxpayers of Reading must unite to stop this abuse. Please contact any Reading School Director whom you might know and ask them about these long distance lines.

Recent Fees For The Bond Swap /$408,000 DOLLARS

Recently Keith Stamm voted "no" to a Bond Swap arrangement approved by the rest of the school board. Our Bond Counsel (Mike Setley) told us it was a role of the dice for us. Personally I feel better being a little more cautious.

The fees listed below were given to us after the swap was approved. I'm curious if the board would have been against me if they would have seen these fees before the vote......
Legal Fee to Stevens and Lee as bond counsel $50,000
A fee to Investment Management Advisory Group $150,000
Also a fee to CONCORD PUBLIC FINANCIAL ADVISORS $150,000
More Legal fees to John Bradley ESQ. $25,000
John Stott ESQ. $10,000
For Swap Monitoring Services to DerivActiv $15,000
And an upfront fee to the Reading School District of $8,000 for a Grand Total of $408,000 DOLLARS

Keith Stamm: The Peoples Choice

The recent popularity of my blog has touched my heart. It is nice to know that people are really concerned about the students of the Reading School District.

Please continue to visit this site and i always enjoy hearing everyones comments, even if there to the left or the right

Keith Stamm has a Dream

I recently thought how wonderful it would be to bring Dr.Condoleeza Rice to Reading,PA.

I'm hopeful that someone who has been checking this blog site from Washington DC, will contact me. This visit would be good for the children and students of the Reading School District.

Stamm Questions Business Manager

June 6th,2006
I questioned Dennis Kelley today, about a bathroom repair bill at 16th and Hawk.

The bill was for $9880 dollars and it appeared to be a bill from Spotts, Stevens and Mccoy. Dennis told me this was for asbestos removal.

The question now is why was Spotts Stevens paid and not the contractor who did the work?

No Child Left Behind Lawsuit

Recent Attorneys bill concerning No Child Left Behind was $1,378.

Currently the Reading School District has spent a grand total of $42,418.
This bill was primarily written by Senator Ted Kennedy (90%) of it. Amazing what we spent on this, considering most of this law was written by a Liberal.

Almost 3 years ago today Keith voted no and has been right ever since this vote. 8 for to 1 against

Public Outcry For Keith Stamm

Recently a young son age 9 asked his father, What office is Keith going to run for next? On another visit to the Temple restaurant I was asked would I ever run for the State Senate? I was asked the other day by my superintendent of schools what office im running for?

Please let me know by e-mail which office you would like to see me run for. Future races coming up are for the State Senate, State Representative, County Commissioner,Mayor, and last but not least Reading School Director. My e-mail address is stamk@aol.com

SAVING MONEY AND RAISING NEW MONIES

I enacted a suggestion system to raise ideas, not only for saving but also for bringing in additional monies.

One idea I had was for a billboard at George Field. The monies would have been kept in a special account for the perpetual care of George Field. Certain liberals fought me on this idea.

RESPONSE TO MY BLOG

The response to my site has been overwhelming. I'm excited that the number of people reviewing my site continues to grow.

This site primarily has only been advertised by word of mouth. Please continue to post your comments.

CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS

In todays Reading Eagle on b-1 Holly Herman writes about Ricardo Pena being a financial supporter of former Mayor Joe Eppihimer.

The bigger fish to look at is the current Mayor Tom McMahon. Mr. McMahon received $5,000 dollars from the now famous Kevin Timochenko. Remember when it came to city code inspections of properties (OVER A CERTAIN NUMBER OF UNITS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE CITY INSPECTION WHEN SELLING.)

ENERGY WASTE AT READING HIGH SCHOOL

June 6,2006

Today i experienced a very cold situation at the high school. Most of the cafeteria employees were wearing winter jackets because of the cold conditions at the cafeteria. Hopefully our marvelous hvac mechanics will correct this situation soon!!!!

GORDON HOODAK STADIUM

saturday, June 3,2006

Keith Stamm attended the dedication of the baseball stadium. I was disappointed that i was the only shool director in attendance.

The bigger disappointment was that our superintendent Dr. Thomas Chapman did not attend this function

LYME DISEASE ( WARNING)

Im very concerned about the high grass still located in hampden park. This has the potential of giving lyme disease to anyone because of tick bites.

Please call the administration if you are seeing the same condition as me. ( 610)371-5611)

GPS TRACKING SYSTEMS

I recently asked our business manager to look at gps tracking systems. I told Dennis Kelley that i recently followed an employee off of school property. This employee actually went home on the taxpayers money.

Taxpayers not only pay for the gasoline in these vehicles but also pay the wages of the employee. I have been given reports of Reading school district vehicles even on route #10 towards morgantown.

Please if you see something of this situation please e- mail me,at stamk@aol.com

Keith Stamm Questions Human Resources

I questioned our human resource director and our business manager about our hiring practices. I wanted to know if the school district had any illegal immigrants working for the district..

The reason i asked, was that if Congress passes a new law the school district could be fined. These fines could reach $20,000 dollars.

FBI arrests Fumo aides over E-MAIL

Thursday,June 01,2006
by Maryclaire Dale
of The Associated Press

Philadelphia-As the FBI stepped up it's corruption probe of a powerful state senator, his aides destroyed years worth of their boss's e-mails from office computers.
The FBI swept in early yesterday and arrested two aides who handle computer tasks for state Senator Vincent J. Fumo, a Philadelphia Democrat.

Leonard P.Luchko and Mark Eister, who were charged with obstruction of justice, deleted all trace of the e-mail from computers at Fumo's Senate offices, his New Jersey shore home and at a nonprofit group with deep ties to him,the FBI charged in a 65-page affidavit.

Lunch with Senator Mike O'Pake

Today I had the privledge of having lunch with Senator Mike O'Pake. We talked about several issues that ranged from the recent elections to several school issues.
Mike asked me about our new superintendent. He congratulated me on my hard work and told me i had the pulse of the people behind me.

I realized then that Mike in so many ways is a great politician. He was able to reach out to me even though im a Ronald Reagan type republican. We chatted about this blog site, and he was very interested in it.

Im glad Mike was able to have lunch with me.Hopefully this common ground can be kept since we both like to help the fine people of Reading.

ON the LEFT or ON THE RIGHT

I want to to say it's not whether the idea is from the left or right. The idea is not whether it's right or wrong. I always ask myself if the idea is the best thing for the students and the community.

SPEND AND SPEND AND SPEND

During the remaining months of 2005 the READING SCHOOL BOARD approved Life Time medical benefits for seven administrators.

This was at the superintendents recommendation . (Dr. Thomas Chapman ) I suggested to the board to compensate these administrators another way. They did not heed my advice. This is the type of thing that will eventually raise taxes. ( SINK THE SHIP )
This benefit also included their spouses.
