New Floor Tile at Reading Senior High School

Floor tile is currently being installed in rooms #212 and #214. Please, look at the difference this tile makes in these rooms.

Not a bad hourly rate

The Seminole County School Board gave itself a relatively modest 3.6 percent pay raise late last month. But $37,544 annually for that part-time job still looks good to many teachers. Teachers in county schools with bachelor's degrees don't get paid that much until their ninth year of teaching.

Motion Sensors to be Installed

Motion sensors will be installed by the end of January, 2007 in Reading Senior High School.These sensors will be in both cafeterias. Savings will amount to over $10,000 in the first year. These sensors were suggested during discussion in The Energy Committee meeting.

Special Board Meeting

December 18th,2006:Board President Keith Stamm presented Dr.Thomas Chapman three flags that were flown above the U.S.Capitol.

Congressman Jim Gerlach provided the flags and arranged to have them flown over the U.S.Capitol.

Other business:Mr.Joel Brigel was named principal of Southern Middle School and Mr. Shawn Rutt was named vice principal.

Water Damage at Reading High School

Sunday December 10th,2006: Yesterday a heating coil broke causing damage to Rooms 212 and 214. Other damage was to ceiling tiles on the first floor.

The heating system is approximately 40 years old and sometimes these problems occur.
