Response to Mayor McMahon and gun control

The Federal Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on October 16,2001 issued a landmark decision in U.S. v. Emerson affirming the constitutional right of individuals to own a gun.

Countries who have banned firearms have higher crime rates than the U.S.

" Gun control laws eliminate guns and prevent crime."

Response: Violent crime has increased in areas where gun control laws have been enacted, making it more likely law-abiding citizens have been unable to defend themselves from armed criminals.

Also, from 1992-1999 violent crimes with firearms fell 35 percent and gun related homicides fell 36 percent. On average 84 people,10 of which are children are shot and killed in this country every single day, thats intolerable. Once again strict gun laws and agressive prosecution of gun toting lunatics and the idiots that purchase them and illegally sell them are neede, at least common sense would dictate as much....
