Taxes are paid in the sweat of every man who labors because they are a burden on production and can be paid only by production. If excessive, they are reflected in idle factories, tax-sold farms and, hence, in hordes of the hungry tramping the streets and seeking jobs in vain. Our workers may never see a tax bill, but they pay in deductions from wages, in increased cost of what they buy, or in broad cessation of employment.

Editorial on school violence
I'm disappointed after reading the opinion editorial today in this mornings Reading paper. One person's opinion isn't every board members opinion. I didn't think Dr. Monks report was garbage.
I explained at the board meeting of June 20th,2007 that the school board was continuously reviewing information. We will not just act on one person's advice.
I think I can honestly say just because you have a Dr. in front of the name doesn't necessarily make that person an expert.

A bit of Wisdom
" If you've just discovered life isn't a bed of roses, rejoice. Between the thorns and the bees, a rosebed is not a very comfortable place to dwell."

A Special thanks to the person that keeps giving me tips!
Thank you for informing me that my youthful looks are bothering someone. This is the type of feedback I need for my campaign.

Very Busy
I've been very busy raising money for the upcoming election. I'm also very busy being board president. The campaign has started and will kick up a bit very shortly.

Smile
I want everyone to know I'm having fun on the campaign trail. The word on the street is that at least two independents will enter the mayor race.

The Principal's Message in 1934
A person is known by the things for which he stands. The power of an ideal is still the strongest motivating force in any human life. A single high thought, around which one builds his personality, is worth more than wealth or acclaim. A beautiful strong life will always be the noblest product of creation. May you, leaving us, be imbued with such principles that we shall always point with pride and say, " There goes a Reading High School Graduate."

Final part of my graduation speech
The Power of Words
It's odd that many compliments
And kinds words are ignored.
No matter if they are sincere,
They seldom strike a chord.
Yet criticism causes pain;
It pierces like a blade.
It tends to cause the memory
Of all nice words to fade.
This fact is especially true
And cannot be forgot,
When criticism's very harsh,
constructive it is not.
So cogitate before you speak
For words are very real.
Potentially they wound and harm;
But they can also heal.
