The doctors told me not to risk climbing on to a float. I made a simple request and was told rules could not change.
I now realize what someone has to deal with when they have a disability. Would the rules have been broken for the Mayor or another Democrat in the race.

Tom McMahon is a DINO, a Democrat in NAME ONLY, and I think you know that Kieth.
McMahon has endorsed Christian Leinbach for County Commissioner, just as he endorsed Anne Carrol for Judge two years ago!
McMahon is a Rockefeller Republican, who understands that Reading is a Democrat city, so he ran as a Democrat. McMahon is not well liked by the Democratic City Committee either, it is the Democrats from OUTSIDE the city that love Mcmahon so much because he is THEIR mayor, the Mayor of Berks County, as he sells off Reading's remaining assetts to his rich buddies.
Shame
Keith,
You could bet the ranch that the parade committee would have went head over heals to cater to Tom McMahon if it were him in your shoes. If they did not you know The Reading Eagle would have used their front page for a month bashing the parade committee that they don't care about the disabled.
I think it's time to call Bob Durgin at WHP580 in Harrisburg and get some of his constitutional legal experts on this case as an infraction of The Americans With Disabilities Act.
The kicker to this Keith is that you have a case. This standard was already applied on the national level when former Georgia Senator Max Cleland was campaigning for reelection. Everywhere he went the public was required by law to assist him to ensure he had the same access to campaign as Saxby Chambliss did with his two legs.
When the parade committee denied you equal access due to your accident they broke the law big time.
This issue needs to be addressed, and Bob Durgin is the man to put the word out on the airwaves to gain state and national attention. It's also odd, because on of the other talk show hosts in the morning R.J. Harris is from Reading, and I'm sure he will relate to you. Give them a call Keith and get the ball rolling at 1-800-724-5801.
Keith you take any advice from that BOZO Heckman and you can kiss any kind of political seat that you are running for GOODBYE! That guy is a complete JACKASS. See you at church tomorrow! By the way we cleaned off the ramp today. You should not have any problems.
