Meeting With Albert Boscov

Today I met with Mr. Albert Boscov to discuss the Goggle Works Apartments. We discussed several items about the city.

One of those items was to combine forces with the school district cameras and the cities camera system. Mr. Boscov thanked me at least six times for being on the school board.

Now that's something I can agree with Boscov on. It only makes sense to combine resources since Reading School District is a public school district.

I saw cities like Pittsburgh and Philadelphia where their schools had their own cameras mounted right next to the city ones, and their school districts had a private security firm handle their cameras which all you do is put a middleman in there and that's unnecessary. Granted you want the cameras to be effective to catch the criminal red handed, but you also want that resource to be effective as far as police response time goes and any delay in that response time could be a matter of life and death.

Now see I can be fair, while I don't agree with Boscov's obsession with wasting tax dollars, I will support his ideas if they make sense and don't misuse government resources.

Now exempting the Goggle Apartments from taxes I don't agree with. Those are things that we should let the free market decide on. Let's clean the mess, and the criminal element and the free market will take care of the rest. Boscov has to realize that government can not be the answer to everything, and at some point you will have to trust people to do the right thing and in a free market they will.
