Security Cameras link schools to police departments

February School board news from the National School Boards association. Pelham, N.H., THE Demarest school district in Bergen County N.J. and the Watertown-Mayer Elementary school in Watertown Minnesota.

This is showing that my idea to include the police department with our camera system is a good one. Hey, we might actually catch some graffiti artists.

Meeting With Albert Boscov

Today I met with Mr. Albert Boscov to discuss the Goggle Works Apartments. We discussed several items about the city.


One of those items was to combine forces with the school district cameras and the cities camera system. Mr. Boscov thanked me at least six times for being on the school board.

The number of votes I received in the last election should have told you what people thought of me.

For the record I had an Energy Committee which students on this committee were from grades 9-12. They were from different ethnic groups. Every student also had a different religion.

We all worked together and it was a tremendous experience. I'm sorry to say that some people didn't want this committee to continue.

Drug Sniffing Dogs

Why are people afraid to have Drug Sniffing dogs come through our schools? This is just one simple question that could actually improve the district.

City Teen Stabbed

Regarding article in B-1 of the Reading Eagle today. Would this of happened if Reading High School had a school resource officer.

Mayor McMahon took the policemen from our schools. It never was brought before the school board for discussion. This should have been discussed and voted on.

No Child Left Behind

The law is far from perfect but let us move forward with what is good with the law. It's the first time anyone has been held accountable for a students education.

Remember, the surgeon, dentist, lawyer, and even the enviromental technician is held accountable for their work.

Over 75% of this law was written by Senator Edward Kennedy and President George Bush continues to get blamed for what is wrong with the law.

The Reading School District was never told about Section 8 housing for this project. I know I would have never voted to excuse taxes if they were going to place Section 8 with wealth.

Don Spatz did not report the question that I asked at debate that was held at Albright. Mr. Mayor did you give the corrupt money you received ($5,000 ) campaign contribution to the judge that sentenced Kevin Timochenko, or hand the same judge a letter asking for him to give Kevin a break?

I printed this now because Tony Phyrillas asked why I didn't raise red flags on the cities finances. I did but Don Spatz only would print what made Mayor McMahon look good.

I'm not complaining because I know who really controls the newspaper.

Governor Ed Rendell, Al Boscov, Paul Roedel, P. Michael Ehrlerman, Marlin Miller all backed a lier. It's a shame that Reading is controlled by certain people. $7,000,000 shortfall, Mr. Mayor Where did you go to school? Didn't they teach you how to tell the truth!

Where is the $7,000,000? Is the money in a Philadelphia bank? We should be able to purchase a fleet of Drug Sniffing Dogs and have enough money for at least (13) police officers. Maybe then we can send two back to the High School. Remember what happened at Mt Penn High School.

They thought it was necessary to hire an officer after that incident.

Police Chief Heim was offered our radio frequency for our outside security cameras and didn't accept. Why didn't he accept this offer?
