Sunday afternoon I observed more graffiti on wall across from cottage at The Citadel. Two lights are out in front of The Geigle Complex. Green colored gum is on the new hardwood Geigle floor.
One set of parents showed up thinking their son was playing volleyball. Were there any volleyball games over the weekend?

Trophy Cases At High School
I voted no 8-1 to this expenditure ($38,500) to build new trophy cases. If the Reading School Board keeps spending money at this rate we will have to raise taxes.

Board Meeting 11/25/08
There should be a vote tonight to bring back two Reading Police Officers. I'm sure the behavior of all students at the Reading High School will improve when they return.
City Tax Increase Wasn't A Surprise
I predicted this increase on Election night of the Mayoral election. The city needs to look at all Spending. The Pagoda and The Goggle Works should have been low on the list of priorities.

Cameras In Cafeteria
Cameras are fine if you have the Reading Police back to make immediate arrests. Vote to be taken on giving the Goggle Works another $136,000 for approximately 100 students.
This Board is amazing to vote on this and not bring Reading Police back to Reading High School at $50,000/per officer.

Softball On The Gym Floor

Reading School District Police??
Why didn't The Mayor (Tom McMahon) come before the Reading School Board before he removed the two police officers? Was this another deal? Was a deal made between the mayor and certain School Directors for a job?
Remember this is Reading a town where everyone wants to know if your Monte Hall Lets make a deal.

Thank you to the students who came to the School Board meeting last night. I really appreciated the enthusiasm and comments that you gave regarding school dress.
Dress Code @ Grooming
Administrators and Teachers need to be held to a higher standard. If you dress for success you will see a tremendous improvement in students attitudes.
Image is what any student or Joe The Public sees. Imagine traffic on 13th street if drivers see dress shirts and ties coming out of Reading High School.
A better image will bring more private donations and funding for various projects. This would include private funding for college scholarships.

School District Needs To Decide
The Reading School District will have to decide to pay for Police at the High School or pay for the water it uses at all their schools.
I think the safety of all students and staff is the most important. I will vote to pay a portion of the Police cost.
Why did the city vote to spend $1,000,000 on the Pagoda when their in such bad financial shape?

Rumor has it that a proposal is coming for Fourteen more security Guards at Reading High School.
This is useless unless you have police stationed at the High School. Hiring Fourteen more guards would certainly cost as much as paying half the cost of two policemen.
Security guards should be offered Bullet Proof Vests after the incident that happened on Friday.

The Reading School Board's recent tax error is just another example of its constant fiscal irresponsibility.(Reading Eagle Oct. 16th)This board continues to mismanage funds,and the district's students are paying for it.The board is buying up many properties,taking them off the tax rolls and spending money on lavish trips.As school are deteriorating and violence at the high school is increasing,this is how the school board fixes the problem.
This mistake cost the taxpayers $3.5 million.These are suppose to be professional people in charge of millions of dollars.Some of the board members along with the superintendent have put their own interests in front of the children.

Minimum Student Increase
The month of October from a previous year showed approximately 200 more students at the High School.
Was the increase all gang members ? How many of these students were transient? How many of these students were documented residents?

Action needs to be taken immediately before a student ,teacher or administrator is seriously hurt.
What will it take? A death,a teacher walkout, a student walkout, and just leave all the gangs at Reading High School.
