Today's Reading Eagle reports that The City of Reading has a $2,800,000 shortfall. Would the city have this shortfall if they didn't give The Pagoda and The Goggle Works a Million each???

Grandstanding At The Reading School District

Why would Keith Stamm grandstand ?? I am not running for office and take every vote that I make very seriously.(John Santoro's comments in today's Reading Eagle on page B-3 ) The government class and civics class that I took in school stated that as an elected public official I have the right to vote no for the people of this city of Reading. Some people get elected and just vote for things to benefit themselves. I vote Yes for the things that are right and No to the things that are wrong.

Tax Bills

Who paid for the full page ad in the Reading Eagle ??? This bill should have been approved by a Roll call vote before this was printed in the Reading Eagle. ATTENTION to all top reporters of the Reading Eagle: Why can't you investigate things like this?? Why can't you investigate why someone votes No on a resolution ???

Liberty and Tyranny

"We all declare for liberty;but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor;while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men,and the product of other men's labor. Here are two,not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name-- liberty. And it follows that each of the things is,by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names-liberty and tyranny."

Law

" No man is above the law and no man is below it;nor due we ask any man's permission when we require him to obey it. Obedience to the law is demanded as a right; not asked as a favor."

Theodore Roosevelt 1903

Criticism

" Criticism is necessary and useful;it is often indispensable;but it can never take the place of action,or be even a poor substitute for it.The function of the mere critic is of very subordinate usefulness. It is the doer of deeds who actually counts in the battle for life, and not the man who looks on and says how the fight ought to be fought, without himself sharing the stress and the danger."

Three Cheers For Governor Palin

President Obama sounds more like Jimmy Carter. Reducing the missile defense is a bad mistake. President Reagan had it right when he told people to negotiate from a position of strength.

Portable Concession Stand

Currently ,where is the portable concession stand (Nicknamed) The Weenie wagon? I'm told that the city won't give the School District a clearance to use this weenie wagon. Why won't the city of Reading give the school district permission to use?

Where is the WEENIE WAGON parked ??? Word on the street is that it might be parked at Dr. Chapman's for a party. Will hot dogs and hamburgers be served ??? Why can't we invite city council to this party? Let us not forget inviting the Mayor!!!

Cost for the WEENIE Wagon $40,000 plus ??????????

Reporter Called Me on 4/6/09

A reporter called me yesterday from the Reading Eagle. I did not return his call because of sensitivity of the subject that he was inquiring about. HAVE A GREAT DAY in the neighborhood.

School Tax Bill Was Wrong Again

Please, before you pay 2008 school tax bill correction make sure it is the right figure. My personal School Tax bill was wrong again after the Finance department had six months to correct. I think the Finance department needs a Forensic Audit done.

I guess they wanted to give me this as a present for my birthday.

Status Of Reading Phillies ???

Are the Reading Phillies going to stay in Reading?? I'm hearing that they might move because of the City of Readings demands. Reading is desperate for more money but do things like give $1,000,000 to The Goggle Works and $1,000,000 to The Pagoda!
