PRESS RELEASE - STAMM ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR CITY COUNCIL

(Note: Since the normal channels for such announcements have failed to include this among their list of press releases, this will be posted here.)

READING - Keith Stamm, the fiscal watchdog of the Reading School Board, today announced that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for Reading City Council in the Fourth Council District.

Keith Stamm was elected in 2003 as Reading School Director. During his service on the School board, he has demonstrated fiscal responsibility by opposing tens of thousands of dollars of wastefulspending and helping to prevent any tax increases (see also his weblog at http://keithstamm.blogspot.com). "I want to do for the City of Reading what I have done for the Reading School District," said Stamm. He is running on the platform of fiscal responsibility and preventing of any tax increases.

Another major Plank in Stamm's platform is opposing the $300 fee imposed in 2004 by the City of Reading for all city homeowners who sell their homes. The Fourth Reading City Council District includes the 17th and 13th Wards. The district is currently represented by Michael Schorn. Schorn is not seeking reelection.
