This Nation, under God, shall have a new Birth of Freedom, that Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.
This makes me strive for open government in every issue after I read the above.

On December 8, 2004, the 108th Congress passed Public Law 108-447.
Section 111 reads:
"Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the Untied States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the institution".
I believe it would be appropriate for the board to pass a District Wide Resolution (mandate) that on September 17 all schools in the district hold Constitution Day. Passing this mandate and notifying all Administrators, Department Heads and Teaching Staff of the resolution will avoid scheduling conflicts on that day.
