In other news, SRC member Daniel Whelan raised concerns over a proposal to purchase a $55,440 Steinway grand piano for the School of the Future that the district and partner Microsoft Corp. will open next month.
"I think it's an example of " Lets get the best for the kids."
Whelan said,"but without an oversight of fiscal responsibility.Goodness gracious,I'd love to own a Jaguar. But I don't because there are other things that I'd like to do with my money.
"The Microsoft school doesn't need to go out an buy a piano. I'm sure they can get a piano donated."
