You just gave all employees off during the holiday now it's gonna cost you overtime.Shutting down the district giving Admin. Sec. Cus. all extra days off! Where do I apply? Do the math , those salaries will buy alot of energy
I work in Reading High and am exposed to mold quite a bit. It is only going to bother people who are allergic to it. Why are you making such a big deal about this? I know there are much more important issues that need much more attention. All you are doing is conjuring up problems we already know exist but are too short-handed to properly deal with them. Why don't you bring up REAL issues like the horrible problems in room 13 and how nothing is up to codes with the placement of all those kids together. How they are disrupting the entire school and destroying everything that was just built for them. Teachers have no control and security is a joke to them. They have already injured numerous people of authority. Why don't you do some real research into THAT!!!!? Something that REALLY needs immediate attention.
I sure hope you have the kahonas to publish the comment regarding room 13. We'll see what kind of a man you really are.
You know Keith, you could really do some good if you would just focus on priority issues. You seem like the type of guy that likes to "get involved." Why don't you speak with teachers, secretaries, custodians, and maintenance personnel and get the REAL dirt that needs to be filtered out of the district. Don't just walk around the schools and look for problems.
The way you always bad-mouth the mechanics makes me believe you would like to have everything contracted. Where in the world would you find a contractor that would jump to every need. Like a room that is too cold, keys need to be made for a classroom, a locked filing cabinet that has the teacher's keys in it and they need to get to the hospital for a family emergency, build walls for rooms, run the electric and heat and tear them down as soon as they are up because someone changed their minds (3 times). You have no idea how many times maintenance(from custodial to mechanical) has pulled rabbits from their butts in the blink of an eye to make administration look good. And why? They aren't appreciated in any way. The entire district gets some sort of "ATTA BOY" every year for doing their job well. They don't even receive that anymore. They used to and the moral was better than it is now. No one appreciates when they pull the administrative butts out of a sling and they do it over and over again.
I know of secretaries who practically run this place and are over-worked and under-paid but they at least have an appreciation day.
A little gratitude and recognition could go a long way in this place. Try finding out some good things about the employees of the Reading School District.
