Over $ 1,000,000 was spent on a new boiler at Riverside Elementary. Problems still exist, such as not having a balanced system, high Temperatures, and bad dampers.
Remember, Keith Stamm's questions (1) When did Pagoda Electrical get into the Heating business? (2) Why didn't the Reading School District have more then one contractor bid on this work?
The Question I have for the future is,Why can't we have a committee review all major bids?

It would raise the cost of all bids, since there would be far more palms to grease.
It's up to Purchasing to secure bids, not the board. If the board gets involved, undoubtedly, there will be direct charges of impropriety made against Board members.
I'd like to see a committee review ALL spending and the items inventoried.
mr stamm
im a teacher at riverside and i can honestly say that the building has never felt better. im sure there are still some problems but im sure all the bugs will be worked out. i would like to say thank you to the workers who made this possible especially the two school district hvac guys (mr suski and mr wloczewski)who over the years always fixed the problems in a timely matter. hopefully this new system will run smooth without problems. keep up the good work!
