Reading High School / Mayor race

To the person who told me to drop from the mayor race and fix Reading High School. Remember, I need five people on the School Board to agree with me to correct the problems. I can only suggest certain things.

I started by suggesting a special board meeting take place to address issues and concerns.

This "special school board meeting" better be a whole lot more productive than the supposed "community crime forums" hosted by the mayor last summer in the wake of Officer Wertz's murder. Otherwise, forget it! It will be a waste of time! One other point: I agree with the previous blog response that you should skip this mayoral race. You are too inexperienced. Fix the problems in the school district (or at least show folks that you are focused on the right isses, i.e., not a flag), and maybe in 4 years you might actually have a shot at the mayor's office.

Keith~

This post absolutely convinces me that you're not quite ready to be Mayor.

In this very post you've said that you need the support of five people to fix things at RSD.

If you're elected Mayor how many will you need support from to affect change? Five? Five hundred. Five thousand?

The losing mentality is to decry that you're a small voice in a big ocean. The winning mentality focuses on building consensus and coalitions. The winning posture says you've got the political savvy to get the board's support, consistently.

If you can't get things done as Mayor will you tell The Reading Eagle that you're not to blame?

Just because you have really good ideas doesn't mean you're a leader.
